With the recent release of Ike Eisenmann's latest film 'Single Family Dwelling' at the Palm Springs International Short Film Festival, Ike released on April 14th 1999 the following press release:
Family: Father- Al Eisenmann Mother - Ruth Ann Eisenmann Brother - Al Eisenmann II (3 years younger) Note: Ike has changed the spelling of his name to IAKE EISSINMANN (it is still pronounced the same). Bio: Iake lived in Houston, Texas until the age of six. His family then moved to Los Angeles so his father, Al, could pursue a career in film and television. Al was a local television celebrity in Houston in the early sixties with a children's show called The Cadet Don Show. Once Al's career was established he asked Iake if he wanted to try show business. At eight years old, Iake thought it would be fun. He met an agent that signed him right away, and without so much as one acting lesson Iake started getting parts. The first was a guest-starring role on the television series, Gunsmoke. This lead to other guest-starring roles, over 200 television commercials, then eventually movies. Escape to Witch Mountain was Iake's first film. Before he had completed his first week's shooting The Walt Disney Studios offered him a three year contract to appear in other Disney projects. Out of that deal with Disney came Return from Witch Mountain, and four movies for television entitled The Secret of the Pond, Kit Carson, Fremont and the Mountain Men, The Sky's the Limit, and Shadow of Fear. As Iake worked extensively in film and television throughout his teenage years he also developed himself as an artist. Photography and drawing became very important parts of his life at this time. He started taking pictures as early as eleven years of age and today is an accomplished and avid photographer. In his early twenties Iake decided to retire from 'on-camera' acting. After a steady fifteen year career he wanted to explore other creative areas. Iake studied the visual arts at Otis/Parsons, a commercial art school in Los Angeles, and then embarked on a career in fine art. He developed a signature 'photo-realistic' drawing style consisting of faces and figures. As he began to present his work, exhibition opportunities made themselves available. He has shown his work in Northern California and Santa Monica California in numerous solo and group exhibitions. During those years he remained involved in the entertainment industry through voice-over work. Beginning as a child Iake's voice was heard in radio and television commercials as well as cartoon projects- most notably as the voice of 'The Little Green Sprout' when Iake was about eleven years old in Jolly Green Giant commercials. On an important personal note for Iake, he met the woman of his dreams and married her in 1993. Iake's wife's name is Alex and she's a writer from Palm Springs, California. Iake has no plans to return to the acting arena. He has enjoyed his retirement, but you will see his name on future projects, only behind the camera. Iake is embarking on a new career as a film director. He and Alex co-wrote and co-produced a short film project entitled 'Single Family Dwelling' which marks Iake's debut as director. The short was premiered on March 10, 1999 in Los Angeles. The spelling change for Iake's name came about as a way for him to distinguish this career change. Iake and Alex are pairing up on their current writing project, a screenplay, and Alex has just completed her first novel. As future projects arise, we will keep you posted. Iake, Alex and their Labrador retriever, Scowt, currently live in Los Angeles, California. From Iake: "I would like to thank all of my fans out there who have expressed such an overwhelming interest in my career. It has been one of the great joys of my life to have been a part of so many wonderful movies and television projects. I hope that in some small way I can return that joy through my future work." Film and television credits: Escape To Witch Mountain, Return From Witch Mountain Star Trek II The Wrath Of Kahn Cross Creek The Formula Television credits: Fantastic Journey (series- 10 episodes) |
